During this unprecedented time of disruption due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it seems like everything is topsy-turvy.  All the little things we take for granted like enjoying a bite to eat at a favorite neighborhood restaurant, getting a haircut, even watching a Phillies baseball game has been curtailed for the time-being.  For many homeowners in our area, the stay at home order has created lots of opportunities to take spring cleaning to the next level.  In fact, homes and gardens in Bucks County and the surrounding areas have never looked better.  What’s more, I’ve heard that “honey-do” lists are totally up-to-date for the first time ever!

All kidding aside, because we’re considered an essential business, Cooper Mechanical has remained open throughout this difficult period to help customers with emergencies.  We’ve now been given the go-ahead to resume all heating, cooling, and plumbing services – just in time for air conditioner preventative maintenance season, a very important time of year in my opinion.

Take it from the Coop, the #1 spring cleaning task on my list is to tune-up my AC system.  When the temperature gets hot, I don’t want to deal with an unexpected AC repair, do you?  Annual preventative maintenance is the single most important thing you can do to keep your AC in top-notch condition for these reasons:

  • Your AC consumes less energy when your system operates efficiently, saving you money.
  • Regular maintenance prevents small issues from becoming big problems which can extend the life of the AC.
  • Routine preventative maintenance decreases the probability of your system breaking down in the middle of a hot spell, when the system is stressed.

An integral component of preventative maintenance is the inspection of the AC system’s air filter to make sure it’s clean so it will function at its best.  Particularly now, with a heightened need to maintain a clean environment all around you, a clean air filter goes a long way in filtering out viruses, bacteria, mold spores, dust, dirt, pollutants, pet dander and other airborne particles.  Simply keeping your air filter clean is a big win in the battle against germs as well as seasonal allergies and asthma.  For those who need more protection, there are air filtration and purification systems that maintain an even higher level of indoor air quality, specifically designed with upper respiratory issues in mind.

Once restrictions are eased and we return to our “new normal” lifestyle, we will get busier than ever. Take the time right now to schedule a preventative maintenance appointment with a Professional HVAC Contractor, like Cooper Mechanical, to prepare your AC system for the hot months ahead.  And If air filtration and purification sounds like something you’d like to learn more about, we can help with that, too.

We’re taking extra precautions to safeguard the health of our customers and employees and to give everyone peace of mind when we come in contact with each other.  Our employees are utilizing the following CDC guidelines including:

  • Employees are taking their temperatures every morning.
  • Everyone has been instructed to stay home if they’re feeling sick or have been in contact with someone who is ill.
  • We are observing social distancing.
  • Technicians are entering homes with masks, gloves, and booties and have been instructed to sanitize all equipment they touch.

On a final note, we’re very grateful that our Cooper Mechanical family has been healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic; we hope you and yours have been healthy, too.  We look forward to better times ahead, when we all reach the other side.
