In early November, something strange happened at Cooper Mechanical.

You see, the Coop always expects a number of our team members to come down with bugs around this time of year. Despite our best efforts, seasonal colds and the flu remain facts of life. However, no one expected this.

It started with the occasional sniffle and cough – but soon, our office was raising up a serious storm of guttural hacking and wheezing. That is, until everyone started calling out sick. People were dropping like flies!

As I surveyed the watery-eyed, red-nosed faces of my remaining coworkers, I knew I had to puzzle out the cause of this super-sickness, and fast. It was about to be our busiest season, and nobody wants the technician handling a boiler replacement in their Doylestown home to be sneezing up a storm.

But just as we were down to a few brave souls, it hit me. Although we install advanced air filtration systems in our customers’ homes and businesses every day, we had never thought to install them in our own office! I felt like the shoemaker in the old folktale – get it? He was so busy making shoes for other people that he never got around to making them for his own family.

I’m a great believer in the health benefits of air filtration. I recommend it highly to my customers and even have a system installed in my own home. Why didn’t I ever think of installing air filtration at my office? After all, I spend a considerable amount of time breathing in the air there!

There was no time to waste. I promptly installed four air filtration systems in our sprawling office, one for each of our HVAC units. Today, everybody’s healthy! Sure, we still get the sniffles here and there. But now, germs and allergens don’t have free reign to travel through our building.

Air filtration systems from manufacturers like PremierOne can improve anyone’s quality of life, particularly if your air quality is regularly compromised by pets, allergens, or fungus problems. Here are just some of the ways an air filtration system could work wonders in your home or office:

  • Trap allergens – Almost everyone experiences allergies at certain points of the year. Good air filtration systems can filter out dust mite debris, pollen, and smoke, as well as other tiny allergens that tend to trigger asthma and allergic reactions.
  • Eliminate viruses, fungi, and bacteria – The systems we offer at Cooper Mechanical do much more than just filter, however. They can actually kill germs and other harmful microorganisms, thanks to a UV system that mimics the energy of the sun.
  • Mitigate odor and gases – The same UV system also eliminates odors from pets, cooking, and chemicals.

Take it from the Coop. Give yourself the gift of good health this year by installing an air filtration system in your home. And, if possible, make sure a system is installed where you work, too! Ready to start breathing easy again? Schedule an appointment online.
